Professor Neil Small is a Professor of Health Research at the University of Bradford, Member of the Born in Bradford Executive.

Neil is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences with an interest in health policy and health inequalities. In recent years his interests have been focussed on the health and wellbeing of infants and children and have been developed as part of the Born in Bradford study. Similar concerns are also explored in the Born in Bradford Better Start programme where these policy and inequality interests are augmented by a concern with public and user involvement.

Looking ahead, Neil’s forthcoming ActEarly study will allow an exploration of the ways communities and concerned individuals can contribute to develop, implement and evaluate interventions that will promote children’s health by an engagement with a wide range of areas that potentially impact on their lives.
